Prophesy MD Ferreira leads a highly skilled team of engineers from the front, himself possessing almost a decade of experience in Oracle technologies.

More than 30 specialist Oracle consultants, including developers, database administrators, project managers and solution and technical architects, combine their experience, industry knowledge and technology expertise to enable Prophesy to effectively deliver knowledge based solutions to customers.

Ferreira says that more than four years’ experience is required of each Oracle specialist, gained on local and international Oracle projects. • Affirmative procurement and SME development: Within the ambit of the Constitution and the regulatory framework, this pillar focuses on the need to use procurement as an instrument to develop broad-based empowerment. Mahlangu reflects that the Black Empowerment of South Africa Programme (BESAP ) has been developed to create a framework for partnering with black-owned businesses of all sizes, including procurement and sub-contracting from BEE companies.

• NDPBS’ strategic vision and operational processes have further been encoded with strong programmes that adhere to the Codes’ guidelines on employment equity, ownership and management control.

The industry executives are the customer’s first contact when requesting products or services. Their main functions are delivery, group marketing, sales, business development, pre-sales and partner management. “Our focus falls on mid-sized to corporate private sector businesses and public sector entities for their finance, supply chain management and human resource management requirements,” explains Ernie Kotze, Prophesy’s relationship manager. “This is the main target market for Prophesy Business Solutions in the 2007/08 fiscal year, a market that requires more cost-effective solutions, which can be provided with our different solution offerings.”

Prophesy also targets long-term contracts from which it can derive annuity revenue and collaborative engagements with other NDH companies.

Ferreira points out that the group’s client base runs a variety of old and new product versions, in this way opening up product upgrade opportunities. “Various recent acquisitions by the group create migration opportunities to Oracle”, he adds.
